I saw some Texas Starfish in the road and wondered if they're indigenous and local or how widespread the species might be. Are these critters you find alongside your roads? What kind of odd things do you find 'out back' when you go walking?

Sue, are these real? I couldn't tell from the picture. What's the outline composed of? And I can say, with certainty, of all the backroads I've walked in Texas I've never seen these.

haha! no. it's the frame from a roll of fence wire. You usually see them along an old fence line or, more obviously, hanging on a fencepost.
